1. Strategy introduction:

First, the I-regression strategy is a day trading strategy, as well as a trend-following and price action trading strategy. Based on the I-regression indicator.
  • The trading time frame that the whole family can use is a time frame of 15 minutes (M15) or 30 minutes (M30).
  • The popular currency pairs that can be used are: EUR / USD, GBP / USD, AUD / USD, AUD / JPY, GBP / JPY, NZD / USD, USD / CAD, USD / CHF, EUR / JPY.
  • Tradable stock indices include S&P 500, Dow Jones, DAX, FTSE.
2. About the Indicator:
  • About the indicator, the whole family can download the attached files at the end of the article, extract them, and copy it to the MT4 file folder under the following path: File> Open data forder> MQL4> Indicators> Copy the extracted files and paste it in the folder. After completing, everyone should turn off MT4 and reopen it. About the files it will have the following indicators:
  • I-Regression (setting: degree = 3, kstd = 0, bars = 100, shift = 0)

FR-Trendlines (filter for price action):

Delta Trend (the arrows, the red down arrow are the sell arrow, the green up arrow is the buy arrow).

I-Gentor- SMA-EMA (installed by default, and left unchanged, this indicator acts as a trend filter).

The above is finished introducing the components of the system, next we will learn how to trade using the above indicators:

3. Trading rules:

If I-Regression is above FR-Trendlines, we will look for a buy signal. On the contrary, if I-Regression is below FR-Trendlines, we will look for signals to sell. The third case is that if I-Regression and FR-Trendlines line are intertwined, the market has no trend, we will not trade!

a, Buy signal:
  • I-Regression is located on FR-Trendlines Line
  • The I-Gentor indicator appears green and blue
  • The Delta Trend arrow is pointing up, indicating a buy signal
  • Enter a BUY order when the price bar (or candle) at the signal arrow closes!
b, Sell signal:
  • I-Regression is below FR-Trendlines Line
  • The I-Gentor indicator appears red and yellow
  • Delta Trend arrow is pointing down, indicating a sell signal
  • Enter a SELL order when the price bar (or candle) at the signal arrow closes!
c, Exit the command when the reverse arrow appears.

d, Stop loss placed at the nearest swing high, swing low, or can be placed below FR-Trendlines

4. Practice:

In the above example, we use AJ pair with M15 chart, we can see that at the candlestick we pointed to there were 3 conditions that satisfy the buy signal:
  1. I-Regression is located on FR-Trendlines Line
  2. Delta Trend arrow is pointing up, indicating a buy signal
  3. The I-Gentor indicator appears green and blue.
We initiate a buy order when the signal bar closes, at 77.2, stop loss is placed below the swing low at 76.8 with a risk of 40 pips. In this order, we take profit at 77.3, which means only 10 pips profit. The R: R ratio is quite low, but there will be commands with a fairly high R: R ratio. In addition, placing SL below FR-Trendlines is less risky than Swing low/high.
